FAQs

Feel free to reach out to Sophia, Vicky Skouras or Allison Hughes for any other questions and they will direct you to the right answer or person.

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Formal or Semi-Formal Attire (e.g., classic, traditional, and elegant options like a semi-formal tea-length or maxi). Dressy sandals, chunky heels, and wedges are recommended footwear options. For men, suit and tie (optional), a breathable sport coat or unique blazer is always fun!

A shawl is recommended as both nights will be outdoors/tented, and there may be inclement weather or a drop in temperature in the evening.

What’s the weather in Watch Hill like?

Like most of New England in June, Watch Hill temperatures tend to range between 74° and 57°. It rains, on average, 7 days in the month…but, hopefully not on our special weekend!

Are children welcome?

You are welcome to bring your children and enjoy all of the family-friendly activities and attractions Watch Hill has to offer during the day! However - and while we love your little ones - we thought you might like a few nights of relaxation and uninhibited revelry. We respectfully ask that no children attend the rehearsal on Friday (5/31) or the ceremony and reception on Saturday (6/1). If you need guidance regarding childcare during each of these events, feel free to reach out to Sophia for contact information before May 10, 2024.

Will there be vegetarian, dairy-free and/or gluten-free food options?

Yes! If you have any specific dietary needs or restrictions, please list it when you RSVP or let Sophia know before May 10, 2024!

Will there be food / lite bites at the rehearsal and welcome party?

Yes! We will have a whole host of food and drink options on Friday night.

Are there any organized activities planned during the day(s)?

We are currently working with the club to coordinate golf and tennis fund (and potentially a fishing derby!) on both Friday and Saturday! We will have pros with us to keep the tennis courts active and participants of all ages and abilities are welcome!

Access to the beach club and other amenities (e.g. the beach club) will also be available. Feel free to reach out for specifics!

Do I need to bring my own sporting equipment?

There will be a limited number of demo rackets and clubs in the respective pro shops - - and will be first come, first serve (pun intended). We recommend bringing your own if you can (especially, for you lefties!)!

If you’re a fisherman, we recommend bringing any of your fishing gear (including waders and/or wetsuit)!

Sports dress code and etiquette?

Tennis Dress Code: The Misquamicut Club requires all white tennis attire (with minimal trim color). This includes hats, shoes, socks, and warm up attire. Tennis shoes must have non-marking soles and should be mostly white. There are about 10 tennis courts, both clay and hard courts. We will reserve a certain number of courts depending on interest level. Please let us know when you RSVP!

Golf Dress Code: Slacks or full-length Bermuda/walking shorts with a collared shirt, sports blouse and golf shoes required. Shorts no shorter than just above the knee. Appropriate golf shoes are required on the course and practice facilities.

Basic Etiquette: While the club does not officially open until mid-June, other members will be around and using all of the club facilities. It goes without saying, but please be mindful of your noise level, attire and adhere to normal sporting and club etiquette! Such as:

  • stay near the organized activity area and do not walk across the back of another court or cross onto another court until the players have finished playing a point

  • speak quietly and never yell when near other members

  • do not leave cups or food on the ground or benches

  • return any borrow sporting equipment

  • hats should be worn with bill forward. No jeans, cut-offs, cargo pants/shorts, bare midriffs, or bathing attire at the Golf Club

We want to have fun, but want to be able to keep the good times rolling!

Club policies?

Smoking: No smoking is permitted inside any building at The Misquamicut Club, on the beach, or any of the decks at the Beach Club, any porch or terrace at the Clubhouse or in the Tennis area but is permitted in the parking lots. These rules pertain to smoking in any form, including vaping and e-cigarettes.

Social Media Policy: The Club is a distinctly private institution, posts on social media, such as Facebook and Instagram are permitted; however, members must act with discretion and not post the names or images of members, guests, or employees without their permission. If a photograph, video, or other depiction of a Misquamicut Club member, guest, or employee, or of the Club’s facilities is taken or made on Club property, it is a violation of Club policy for the Club to be “tagged” or “geolocated” and publicly posted on a website, social network, site or similar communication medium (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) without prior written approval of the General Manager.

Are there dogs allowed on the beaches?

Dogs are allowed from 6:00 PM until 8:00 AM. All dogs must be on a leash at all times

Is there a cell phone policy while on club properties?

Cell phone usage is limited to texting, and we ask that you do it discreetly. If necessary, we recommend you take any calls in the parking lot, 15 feet from the entrance. This applies to both the main club and beach club.

What else should I pack?

We recommend packing a bathing suit, tennis whites, tennis shoes and/or golf shoes, rackets and/or clubs, plenty of cover ups and casual wear, a shawl and/or lite sweater and sandals or chunky heels.

Sunscreen and bug-spray should be available in the club bathrooms/locker-rooms, but its always recommended to bring your own. Water coolers are scattered throughout the club.
